Our project also continues in 2019. Veneto does not give up

In Veneto and in the North-East regions, at the end of October 2018 the strong wind and persistent rain felled at least 10 million cubic meters of trees and caused enormous environmental and economic. Faced with catastrophes of this magnitude, we find the pride and strength to react together, let’s safeguard a common good: our forests ! From this belief was born Choosewood’s commitment to support damaged areas: we spent an intense weekend on the Asiago plateau to collaborate in the recovery of some felled trees and organized the sale of their tips, which were thus able to be reborn as Christmas trees. The commitment continues! On February 22, 23 and 24 we will meet many friends of the forests, volunteers to build a log cabin , using the plants felled by the hurricane. The hut, built in PEFC solidarity supply chain, will become the Museo del Vaia in memory of the most major forest disaster that occurred in Italy in the last 50 years and will host technical courses for foresters and sector operators on the use of the chainsaw, logging, felling and carpentry and environmental education courses for children and schools.
